The seminar "Information and Media in Modern Conflicts" was held in the Military Academy in Lisboa, Portugal on the 16th of July. The main paper was made by Dr. G. Simons, the senior researcher of the National Center for Crisis Management Research and Training (Crismart), a part of the Swedish National Defence College, the associated fellow of the Communication Management Centre of the Russian-German Graduate School of Management at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of RF.
 
In his paper the Swedish specialist stressed the rising role of the informational warfare in the modern world and illustrated basic ideas by various examples of applying the communicational mechanisms both in the armed conflicts and large business. The seminar was organized by the NGO Competitive Intelligence & Information Warfare Association for the researchers in the sphere of business information protection. The seminar showed the high potential of this sphere of knowledge both for business community and security bodies as the representatives asked for practical recommendations from the Swedish scientist.
 
The Russian specialists also took part in the discussion: the head of the Communication Management Centre of the Russian-German Graduate School of Management at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of RF, DSc. Prof. E. Pashentsev, associated fellows of Communication Management Centre Dr. D. Bazarkina and Dr. O. Polunina and Mrs. S. Zudochkina.
