Preliminary Call for Papers

Content and Objective:
2nd International Communication Symposium on "New Communication
Technologies and Social Transformation" aims at getting together the
communication scholars, researchers and sector professionals to
present the latest research results, ideas and applications in the
field of culture, communication and media studies.

While the impact of new media on social transformation is increasing
as a new platform of communication in the world of cultural, economic
and political globalization, it is becoming a research topic of
various disciplines. In this context this symposium will serve as a
meeting ground for the communication and media scholars and
professionals to discuss the current topics and develop suggestions
for future studies.

This 2nd International Communication Symposium will be held in May 2-4
2012 and hosted by Kyrgyz Turkish Manas University in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Original papers and contributions from scholars and sector
professionals are welcomed for the symposium about the general and
related field(s) of culture and communication/media studies:

Abstract Submission:
Scholars, researchers and professionals are invited to submit research
and application papers not exceeding 200 words representing original,
previously unpublished work. The abstracts will be evaluated by the
referees. The full text of the accepted ones will be published in the
symposium proceedings book. Since Bishkek is a multi-lingual/cultural
environment, the symposium languages are English, Russian, Turkish,
and Kyrgyz. The simultaneous translation is provided.

Deadlines:
- Abstract Submission Deadline: December 31, 2011.
- Notification about the accepted papers: January 13, 2012.
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: March 30, 2012.

Guidelines for Authors:
Abstract should be submitted by e-mail as an attached document in MS
Word format of any kind. Abstract could be in
English/Turkish/Kyrgyz/Russian and have to be prepared according to
the guideline in Symposium web site.

Registration Fee:
$25 registration fee for participants from Central Asian countries and
$75 of registration fee for participants from other countries includes
all lunches and coffee breaks for three days, as well as the opening
cocktail and closing dinner, city tour, and Symposium proceedings book.
