"A World Without Walls": An International Congress on "Soft Power", Cultural Diplomacy and Interdependence
Del 06/11/2009 al 09/11/2009; Berlín (Alemania).
"A World without Walls" is being hosted by the ICD and CivWorld/Demos on the
20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and will bring together an
international group of young leaders, political and diplomatic
representatives, and individuals from the private sector and civil society
for a four-day program of lectures, seminars, and panel discussions. During
the program, participants will consider the development of international
relations over the past two decades, explore the challenges and
opportunities of interdependence, and look at the importance of cultural
diplomacy in ensuring sustainable multilateral cooperation.
The speakers at the event will be leading international figures from
politics and academia, who will contribute unique perspectives on these
three issues under consideration. Components will include a panel discussion
featuring Former Heads of State on the subject of "Global Leadership in a
World Without Walls: The Challenges Ahead" and a panel discussion for Former
Foreign Ministers on the subject of "Balancing Global Public Goods and
National Priorities: Establishing Foreign Policy in an Interdependent
World".
